Headlines From 2009 by Poet J. Ivy

It goes without saying that 2009 was quite an eventful year.

The world watched as the first president of Afican descent was elected to represent America. Unfortunately, 2009 was also the year we lost R&B icon, Michael Jackson. The Grio contributor, poet J. Ivy, gives a recap of this memorable year.

Banks going bankrupt, pockets full of lint,

So the government opened up the mint,

Bailouts were lent,

But during foreclosures and bailouts,

More troops sailed out,

Terrorist strapping bombs to baby strollers, so lost souls yelled out,

Somebody let hell out,

Anthrax was mailed out...special delivery,

A woman had eight babies in one delivery,

Chivalry ain't dead, they giving out sweetheart deals on Capitol Hill,

How does it feel?

Things I Want for 2010

Although Christmas is over, I think I wouldn't mind having headphones like this. These Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones are technologically superior to any headphones I've brought. They aren't cheap and run for $1,400, but they are well worth the price.

Welcome Folks!

Yo! Welcome to Climbing the Justice Tree. Right now, I have absoutely no idea how to compose a blog.

Futhermore, I don't know where to begin, but I do know what I'm passionate about!

My passion is observing the world. I enjoy reading and analyzing politics, style, education, poetry, climate control, black life & people of color issues, and everything in between.

Why did I pick Climbing the Justice Tree as a title? Excuse me for my inarticulateness but it is quite early in the morning. "Climbing the Justice Tree" sounded like a good title so there you go.

Peace and Hope.

Welcome!
